Hot Off The Press
welcome to Sundae Matinee, a sprinkling of sweet stuff

I have been writing up a storm for MovieJawn.
Next week I have five articles that will post to MovieJawn.com. This absolutely thrills me! I have been told that my fondness of motion pictures is infectious and nothing pleases me more than to share my thoughts on all things cinema with you.
If you find a new watch because of me or maybe fall for a new cinematic dead guy or gal… let me know. I love to hear from my readers whether it be postal mail (PO Box 20172 Philadelphia, PA 19145), an electronic message or telepathic vibrations. No matter the method of communication, I always write back.
Being able to focus on my passions full time has been such an incredible experience thus far. In some ways, I feel like I am alive for the first time. Occasionally the shadows attempt to move in and take away my sparkle, but they don’t have a chance this time… I am too powerful.

On Thursday I went on an adventure with my film pal Hunter Bush in search of props for our future web series: Cinematic Crypt: Hotel & Lounge.
If you are anything like me and have beans for brains in terms of remembering things, Hunter will serve as my assistant on the visual component to my movie pod, Cinematic Crypt. Over the next few weeks we will modify a room in my home into a television studio to serve as a backdrop for our movie program. Here’s a glimpse at some stuff we procured for our spooky backdrop. Let me know which item is your favorite in the comments below…

Isn’t the “Man Eating Chicken” piece exquisite? It was created by my Uncle Weazel and will be perfect for a future episode about a film set at a carnival. As for the sphinx, both Hunter and I were pleased as punch to acquire this as it will be quite fitting for when a mummy checks into the hotel.

Compliments of Joann’s, we scored some discounted fabric that will be transformed into lobby curtains.

This week I am proud of…
The return of my movie podcast, Cinematic Crypt.

Episode 037 is my second entry in the series of Haunted Houses. In this series I examine the strange, unexplained sights and sounds of the most terrifying cinematic abodes.
After recently revisiting my first episode of the Cinematic Crypt for research purposes, I found how far the show has truly come. It made me realize the importance of just keeping at it. Those little steps truly do matter. Give my show a listen if you dare… available wherever you snag podcast shows or download directly here from MovieJawn. Tune in on the 13th of each month.

This week I recommend…
The perfect movie matinee! A 1958 motion picture, The Colossus of New York.

This movie is astounding. I discovered this cinematic sci-fi beaut last Friday, compliments of Kino Lorber.
“Brain of a genius!”
A Frankenstein’s monster style story in which a father does everything in their power to keep the brain of their dead son ALIVE! Watching Colossus amble through a park at night to the piano score was movie magic. He walks under water and lasers people’s flesh with his eyes! I am in awe of this masterpiece. The Colossus of New York is a five star flick that I will be sharing more thoughts on in an upcoming installment of the Disc Dispatch column over at MovieJawn. Keep your eyes peeled. In the meantime, take a peek at the flick yourself here.
Happy you are here. xx. goodbye.
