While reading The Let Them Theory (the book I told you about last week here), I stumbled upon the quote below:

Much like The McFlys (Back to The Future), I truly believe that if a person puts their mind to it, they truly are able to accomplish anything. This quote made me feel happy and excited about the future, I hope it does the same for you.

Spooky season has started for Rosalie Kicks. This past week, Tommy Udo and I visited my mom and had a grand time. Our visit started with a late afternoon plate of spaghetti (my absolute favorite delicacy), a jaunt to TJ Maxx to scope out the Halloweenies, and ended with a glorious night of Bingo. Pictured above is one of my new pals, Wilbur. He is a sophisticated, fast-talking business man that is ready to sell you the best plot in the cemetery. I think I am going to make a watercolor portrait of him. His portly physique and the way in which he holds his pipe sends me.

Tommy Udo and I absolutely love attending bingo with my mom. We do not even care if we win… we have so much fun. Some may even say we are “Batty for Bingo”.

I miss working on my embroidery projects, punch needle, designing creatures, and well… sewing stuff. While out scouring the land for Halloweenies, I stumbled across this exquisite fabric:

What’s it about? 
A beautiful graphic novel about famed actor, Bela Lugosi and his turbulent, yet fascinating life.

Why I recommend: If you are fan of old monster movies, especially of the Universal fare, this is definitely a must read. As mentioned in my previous newsletter here I have decided that upon my return to the Cinematic Crypt (my podcast/video show) my first episode will feature the 1940 motion picture, The Devil Bat. I read this book in preparation for writing my teleplay and learned so many new things about Bela. I will putting the finishing touches on my script this week and am set to record what I am referring to as the pilot episode with MovieJawn’s Media Maven, Shayna Davis later this week. Wish us luck!
